Captain Eddie Brown is three-time winner of the National Tarpon Tournament while Roberto has been Captain for the boat winning the National Fishing Tournament on three different occasions.
A booming voice, warm personality and remarkable fishing knowledge have made Captain Eddie one of the finest guides on Costa Rica’s north Caribbean coast. Roberto is the quiet one, his specialty is fly fishing and his knack for knowing where the tarpon are is highly respected. A great many anglers come to Tortuguero specifically for the privilege of fishing with one of them.

Eddie & Roberto are great. They took us out everyday and treated us well. When we caught fish they coached us every step of the way, and when we were between hooks they were great hosts to our group of guys. The Brown’s made our journey to Tortuguero the best guys trip ever.

I first met Eddie at Tortuguero over 30 years ago when we were both ‘kids’. We caught snook in the waterway and had a great time. Fast forward 15 years and I wound up back in Tortuguero and fishing again with Eddie. This time we went outside in search of the Silver King. We knocked ’em dead.
Since then I have brought at least 8 groups of friends down to fish with Eddie and Roberto and every man has boated at least one (usually multiple) 100+lb Tarpon. Eddie is one of the most congenial souls with whom I have ever come in contact as well as the “Michael Jordan” of fishing guides in all of Central America. Having dinner with Eddie and Roberto in the evening tops off a super fishing outing.
Its easy to see why Eddie is universally known as the ‘Tarpon King’ of Costa Rica. I’ve been fishing with Eddie & Roberto for years and every trip is one to remember.

Both boats are equipped with outrigger, fish/depth finder, GPS, fiberglass T-top and two swivel seats.
